Hello all,
First time poster here. I need some advice for a situation.
Around this time last year, I got several emails from Credit Karma, Mission Monitoring service, and others that a collections was placed on my account. I log into them all and see its for a collection agency trying to collect for Xfinity Mobile. I've never used them for phone service or have any Comcast products. Naturally, I dispute this with all 3 agencies and get it deleted from my account.
Fast forward to yesterday, I once again get emails from Credit Karma and all that saying once again I have a collections on my report for the same amount, Xfinity Mobile and a different collections agency. I have again submitted disputes with the 3 agencies. I dug a little deeper this time with Experiean, and found an address for this account. I live in a different state than what they are reporting. At least I came to this conclusion because when I was submitting a dispute with Experian, I tried to dispute this IL address but was not able to because it was tied to this collections.
Anyway, looking for advice on what to do. I don't want to have to do this every single year because they got the wrong guy. I thought about reaching out to Xfinity and trying to get this resolved. I don't want to reach out to the collections agency because I feel that would be there way to justify this bogus account.
Thanks!
Congrats on your deletion!

OP got it deleted once, but it's back.
OP, reaching out to the collection agencies wouldn't automatically "validate" anything. Not as long as you don't acknowledge the debt/admit that it's yours. You could just call and ask for more info. But I'd say go to Xfinity first.
