Lost 30+ points on TU :(

The past 2 months I've been learning a ton here.

Logged in to CK to see a -34 drop. The reason they gave was that Nel Net reported an additional $2300 in balances. I've written to Nelnet to find out what this is about. Today my Cap One Credit Wise score updated and it too is -30 points.

I feel so defeated.

NFCU: $25,000; PenFed Power Cash Rewards: $3,500; PenFed Gold: $2,500; Capital One: $2,300; Nordstrom Visa: $2,000; Credit One: $1,250
Amazon: 800; Kohls: $1,500

Re: Lost 30+ points on TU :(

I'm so confused!

Just logged in to WalMart to check and there it hasn't changed. Is WM a "true" FICO??

For TU:

Credit Karma: 573

Credit Wise: 576

WalMart: 614 (as of 4/5/16)

Merrick: 620 (as of 3/15/16 - will udpate with April score in about 2 weeks)

NFCU: $25,000; PenFed Power Cash Rewards: $3,500; PenFed Gold: $2,500; Capital One: $2,300; Nordstrom Visa: $2,000; Credit One: $1,250
Amazon: 800; Kohls: $1,500

FICO is all you need to be concerned with, when it comes to scores.

Yes, but like most such lender provided scores, it only updates once a month.

Re: Lost 30+ points on TU :(

Credit Karma scoring doesn't make much sense to me either. My score dropped exactly 40 points for paying my secured loan down to 9%, which is supposed to give you a score boost, or so I've read here. CK scores are all I have for now since I don't have enough history for a Fico score. But my Capitol One did gain 1 point

Re: Lost 30+ points on TU :(

Same here on the 30+ score drop. Like I posted in the other thread, after I disputed, Seventh Avenue changed the type of account from charge account to personal loan/repossession which made my scores plummet.

Re: Lost 30+ points on TU :(

The Wal-Mart score is actually the useful one over CW from Cap One or Credit Karma. Don't let CK rattle you because of a score drop. I mean they also say having 10+ accounts means your doing better than someone with 5 accounts, not true. I always remember a clean report is what's most important. Time will make bring a higher score.
Starting Score:TU:791(Dec3), EX:783, EQ:000
Current Score: TU:786(Aug9), EX:776, EQ:782 (Aug8)
Goal Score:820 across all boards

Re: Lost 30+ points on TU :(

It's been said 100 time. CK scores are FAKO. Be concerned about FICO.
Example. My DW lost 50 points on CK due to 1 ( yes that's right ONE) inquire. Her FICO score didn't drop but only 3. 99.9% of lenders use FICO. if your counting on CK for credit score you'll be disappointed every week.

Re: Lost 30+ points on TU :(

It is so hard to ignore the FAKOs but you all are right.

At the end of this month, I will go from about 55% overall utilization (with 4 cards reporting 75% or more) to overall 10% utilization (3 card under 30%, no other balances reporting). Hope to see a change then.

Re: Lost 30+ points on TU :(

I don't even look at the scores on CK anymore.  I just log in once a week to check on my TU and EQ reports.  Those scores were 100 points off my TU FICO last month!
