Re: MY GW SUCCESS LIST FOR TODAY

No, they won't respond to DVs, in my experience. I think they have for some others, though. Just go online & dispute through the CRAs. I think I wrote "Paid in full, creditor agreed to delete" or something like that for my reason for disputing.
But don't dispute via phone.. you'll have a hard time explaining to a CSR that you want to dispute because you know LVNV won't verify your dispute and you want it to fall off your CR!!!

Re: MY GW SUCCESS LIST FOR TODAY

Honestly sly, I just don't remember. Wish I did. I *think* I may have only waited a week or two after payment, at least until I got the letter in the mail thanking me for my payment, but I really don't think I waited the whole 30-60 days for the CRAs to update.

Re: MY GW SUCCESS LIST FOR TODAY

Last month I typed out my first GW to the only derog (1 30 day late) on my whole report. Chase was the recipient. With my 1 and only attempt I can say I was successful in having them remove it from my record affecting my scores across the board of
TransUnion 776 to a 795 for an increase of 19 Equifax 775 to a 813 for an increase of 38 Experian 786 to a 800 for an increase of 14

there were other things corrected as well like reporting cl for capital on to fix utilization problems so I am not sure if the whole increase if from the gw, just wanted to let everyone know GW'S do work so keep up the writing process. With some luck as I got you will too be graced with your hard work.

here is a copy of that said letter:

05/28/2008

Account #: XXXXXXXXXXXX

 Dear Account Specialist,

I have been a customer with Chase since 19XX and during that time. I have enjoyed my experience with your services, greatly. I am writing to see if you would be willing to make a "goodwill" adjustment to your reporting to the three credit agencies. I have one late payment on the above referenced account that dates back to (date occured) . From that time till the close of this account I have been an exceptional customer paying every month on time and never late. When my MBNA account was taken over by Chase I had two chase cards closing this account since the credit limit was lower than my current account of XXXXXXXXXXXXX.

Because of my exceptional payment history over the years, I would like you to consider removing this negative payment from my credit reports. At the time of the late payment, I was working on setting up the account online in order to pay the account electronically with a direct debit from my bank account. I had spoke to someone at Chase when I had found out what had happened that the Bank Routing # was right but that the account number was missing the last number.  This caused the account to go unpaid and because I was new at paying online. I did not have a checks and balance system in effect to catch the slight mishap. I corrected the problem and the person assisting me had said that since it was my first time ever being late that they would adjust it. I tell you this not to justify why the payment was late, but rather to show that the late payment is not a good indicator of my actual credit worthiness. It was not until recently after pulling my credit reports that I found out, this only blemish in payment history was found. I hope that you are willing to work with me on correcting this on my credit report.

I am a very pleased customer and hope to continue a long relationship with Chase. With today’s credit industry so competitive, I know how important it is to maintain a good credit report by working with and paying your lenders on a timely manor. Chase has been exceptional in my experience so far, and I highly recommend them to all of my friends and relatives. I hope that you will deeply consider my request and prove once again, why Chase is heads above the rest.  I look forward to your reply.

Sincerely,
