Hi all,
I have about 4 late payments over a few years with Macys (3 30day 1 90day) and I'm sure its affecting my score a lot... This along with a CO from Verizon are the onnly negs on my score. I'm hoping Verizon would do a PFD. According to other posts it seems like Macys is very generous and would remove late payments from your credit report if you call them... I just can't seem to find the correct phone number... in most threads everyone just PMd it to each other and I don't want to revive a bunch of old/outdated threads.
So to keep this simple: Were you able to get Macys to remove lates from your CR recently? What phone number dd you call?

Thanks for your response but I did my research before opening this thread. If you read the entire thread you'll notice that the 1 phone number mentioned in that thread was incorrect. I do appreciate your help though!

Update: I just called Macy's and they helped remove it right away! The call took no more than 4 minutes. The rep told me that they notify the credit bureaus and a mail will be sent to me.
The number I called was 800-627-2909 found on the backdoor list. I think the number you gave me is for Fingerhut.

Ooops I did give you fingerhut #. My apologies. But Macys was so easy to deal with. I wish Cap1 was like that.
I called an 800 number I found here and spoke to a rep... she looked into the account and found four lates in 2012. I've had this account since 2006 (it was closed and re-opened in 2011 so I guess thats what they see).... 3 lates are 3 months in a row (30 days) then another is 60 day late. She said she would have to find an error on their part. I told her I wasn't getting statements so she said at around that time i was setup for online billing so shell send it for them to review. If they cant prove that I opened my statements online then they may remove them (I only registered my online account last week) so hopefully this would work. She seemed very kind and helpful over the phone so I am hoping this works.
Has anyone had a ssimilar situation with them?

Well I can tell you that the 30 day lates aren't hurting you much, but the 90 day will hurt the whole time it's on your report. So, if I were you, I would work on getting THAT particular one removed.

Well I can tell you that the 30 day lates aren't hurting you much, but the 90 day will hurt the whole time it's on your report. So, if I were you, I would work on getting THAT particular one removed.
Thank you for your reply.. It was actually a typo... its three 30 day late payments and ONE 60 day late.
