Hi everyone -
Just wanted to share my story for anyone who is dealing with Macy's
I called the 800 number listed for Macy's on my EQ report which connected me directly to their Credit Services Dept (not frontline Customer Service). My account became delinquent (90 days) and was closed by them back in the summer of 07 because I had a $5 balance on the card that I was not aware of and was accruing late fees, which I paid when I realized what was happening. I explained the situation, she put me on hold then came back and said they were sending an update to remove the derogatory info to all three of the CRAs and then asked if she could put me on hold again so she could get a supervisor in Customer Service to REFUND ME THE LATE FEES I PAID 5 YEARS AGO ! Uh, yeah - I'll hold!
Customer Service said no to the refund. Which is fine I guess, since it was not somethng I was expecting or hoping for. In the end it's just a small victory given their age, but a victory (and an easy one) nonetheless.
Anyway, just wanted to put it out there in case anyone has minor derogs with them. It was a very simple, even pleasant, process - for me anyway. Good Luck!
