Hi Everyone,
I was hoping for a bit of advice and if my efforts are now exhausted releasing two state tax liens. In 05 and 07, I had state income tax leins filed. To be honest I never knew that there was an issue with these until I got mail stating a lein was in place. I paid the leins within two months of them being filed.
This year I have been on a credit kick and finally addressed my naging issues with credit (removed old paid 20 collections from my account) and a few other small items resulting in a 75 pt boost, I need more.....
Info directly from - Maine Revenue Service - They do not report anything to any credit bureaus. The credit bureaus look through public records for these and report them. They can not remove it from my file by contacting the credit bureaus. Is this ture? Is there anyway for me to get these removed before the 7yr limit expires?
Thanks,
Anyone have any info on this for me? I really really could use some help on this.
I'm bumping this up because I'm having the same issue. I have two paid State Income Tax Liens showing on my report. They both show as released - but they are still on my report. ME Revenue Service indicates they don't report to the CRA's. My CR is showing the tax lien with contact information of the Registry of Deeds (the lien was placed on my house) - would the Registry of Deeds be the one reporting it to the CRA? Or is this a matter of the CRA searching back through public records to put this on my report?
If I know one thing from living in Maine for 6 years, it's that their communication with anyone or anything is terrible. Good luck with it, I would start with the contact info the CRAs are giving and go from there.
