NCO...they disappear and then reappear??

NCO Financial, crappy CA.....they were on my hubby's CR last year with a different date....they disappeared (without a dispute) then reappeared last month with it saying past due as of June, July 2008.  There is no date of last activity or date of first deliquency.  It only says a date opened:  May 2008, date reported June 2008 last month, and now this month says date reported July 2008.  Both last month and this month EX alerted by email that there was potenitally neg information and it shows where they reported last month and then re-reported this month.  Weird.

EX does not show any kind of DOLA or DOFD on their reports...weird again.
On Fico report, which is EQ...it shows it as an open account but has two different DOLA dates:  under the Account Details it has DOLA as Dec, 2003...under the Collections it has DOLA as Sept. 2004.   This is also listed as "past 90 days due"  10 times....as if it were a revolving account or something.  It was a utility company...not a credit card or loan!  But it doesn't say what type of account it is.  It says charged off account, it also says it's an open account.  So the 10 times past due and one 30 day past due from another account, makes it look like my hubby missed payments on something 11 times recently.  That's the way FICO is understanding it anyway, because they don't know that that is not an old closed debt.

Currently, they are not on TU at all.  Thank goodness....

What to do about these freaks?!  Afraid to dispute because don't have the money to pay up if for some reason we had to.  But we will come tax season.  They did send us a letter attempting to collect the debt just last week....don't know what to do.  We want to buy a house in the next six months but this keeps bringing his score back down every month!  Don't have any original paperwork from OC....but I think maybe the DOLA is actually in between those dates of Dec. 2003 and Sept. 2004.  We do have CR's from the past that show they were on there reporting it differently, and then how they reappeared.  Any defense there?

Thanks! Smiley Happy

Where do you pull your reports?

When this was removed due to a dispute, was it a dispute that you initiated through the CRA? If so, did the CRA notify you of the re-insertion?
