Need All the Help I Can Get

Hello,

Thanks to a very unstable marriage and now divorce, I have ruined my credit. It is a shame at age 31 I now understand the importance of having good credit and now I need support to get it back into shape. A week ago I disputed all inaccuracies on my credit reports and have sent Pre-HIPAA letters regarding two medical collection accounts today. A few days ago I sent out PFD letters to two credit card companies. What else do I need to do now to help my credit besides pay off as much as possible which is what I am currently doing?

Yesterday, I received the first good news which is that my credit score went up 40 points so I am definitely going in the right direction. Any and all support will be highly appreciated.Smiley Happy

We need dates in order to try to help!!!

Never disput if there are other options!   CCC reporting a CO  usually will not accept a PFD!

What is the DOFD/DOLA on the COs      are CAs reporting along with the OC?

Re: Need All the Help I Can Get

I'm doing the same things.

Some other things I've done/am doing:

- Sending goodwill letters re: some late payments
- Got a credit card, which I pay off every month (I'm going to get another, possibly 2?)
- Paying off collections, which doesn't raise my score but I hear looks good?  I will also beg to have them deleted after they're paid. . .can't hurt to try I guess.

Re: Need All the Help I Can Get

Yes, I purchased a car in March 2008 and have made all timely payments. Plus, I have student loans which I am repaying so once I get the collections and old stuff deleted or $0 balance I should see my score go up significantly. As a matter of fact, with the help of the board I know I can do it.
