I finally got a response to my first PFD that I sent out a month ago. I received a letter stating: Unless you notify this office within 30days after receiving this notice that you dispute the validity of this debt.........
And then after all the blah, blah there is a handwritten letter stating:
Once we receive payment we will remove from credit report like it was never there. It takes 6 to 8 weeks to be removed. Once we receive payment in full I will make out a letter stating it will be removed and another letter stating it's been paid in full
Thank You,
Blah Blah
Of course I know this is not the exact response I wanted, how do I go about this? In getting to respond as needed? Getting them to send out the letter stating that they will removed from all 3 CRs and send me the letter before I send payment. Thank For The Help!
A handwritten letter? huh.
Is it on company letter head signed by a rep from the CA? The letter where they say they will delete upon payment?
In my opinion, I think they might be shoveling it.
Sure, you would like to have a letter from stating what they will do, but it should not put the burden back on you to do anything,.
CRAs dont delete collections by way of a letter from the consumer, they delete by way of a direct reporting of the CA to the CRA, reporting an update of collection status code to DELETED. So dont let them just send you a letter, and shift the burden to you.
I would include the following in any PFD offer you reach:
"Your acceptance of remitted payment by me is your agreement to promptly update the account status code for your previosly reported collection with each credit reporting agency to "deleted," and not just to update the account status to "paid."
I am not sure I completely understand. How should I reply to the handwritten letter?

It is on a letter hand. It states the name of the company at the top and the adress and phone numbers. It is signed by someone. Is the handwritten response enough that I can go head and fully thru with payment or do I need a more detailed agreement? Not sure how or if I need to respond to the letter?
As long as it is signed and on their letterhead, I don't see an issue. I have never seen where it stated it needed to be typed.
If emails work, I would think this would too.

I wasnt worried if it was typed or hadwritten but what was contained in the letter its self. If that was good enough to take that they would remove it. Thanks
I am not sure what you would want it to say? They are saying once paid it will be removed.
Fine Thanks For The Help! Guess it was just a stupid questions! Newbie=stupid
But Thanks For the Help.
Never a stupid question. I just wasn't sure where you were going with it and whether or not you had heard something differently.
