I'll try to keep it short. I am trying to buy a house. My credit score is 647. I haven't had much credit in the past. I one CC with a $800 limit (started with a $300 limit) and two store CC that I have never used in 4 years. They both have a $250 limit. I have one student loan for $3500. I am wondering what types of cards (secured/unsecured, etc) I should have and how many? Which cards are best to apply for?
Okay I went back and read some of the other threads.
CapOne- Limit 800, Balance 0
Victoria- Limit 250, Balance 0
Buckle- Limit 250, balance 0
Student Loan- 3500, paid monthly, but could pay off at any time.
No other derogatory marks, nothing in collections.
What are the ages on all 4 accounts?
First off, if you are buying soon, do not apply for ANYTHING.
I would look at Capital One and Discover prequals.
Hopefully you find a card or two with larger limits.
Otherwise, use what you have and pay it on time.
