Are you a member of a credit union? If not, you should consider joining one. They usually have good rates on auto loan. However, you need to get you and your significant other's FICO scores up. That 17% rate is not optimum.
You should see anywhere from 0-15 points each for crossing those % thresholds. 4 thresholds (68.99% 48.99%, 28.99%, 8.99%), up to 60 points! Since you are in a dirty scorecard, maybe not as much but it will be a great improvement from where you are currently.
