I purchased the same kit, but I think it's a nice deal. You would have paid $47.85 just for your three scores, so for another $2.00, you get some good advice.

I can see from reading about your situation, however, that the kit probably doesn't offer quite enough advice, or what you need, but that's what the forums are for! I've been on here for a little while, and everyone here is so helpful! They really know their stuff. Just have a little faith and patience! You can rebuild! The first step is just knowing where you stand. Slyhouse seems to have great suggestions for you. GOOD LUCK to you!

Use whichever SOL is the longest...just to be safe...if the DOFD on the Citi was Sept 2002..it will fall off...Sept 2009...7 years...for the Gateway paid collection...did you pay...before...or after it was on your reports???...if it was before...send that receipt...with the highlighted paid date...along with the reporting date of the CA...and dispute it...as it never should have been reported...if not...send a GW letter...to the CA...for removal...

I'm not even sure when I paid the Gateway before or after, I sent them a GW letter anyway. I'll wait and see what happens. I'll do so research, but I doubt I'll find anything from 2004.

Okay all. I'm very disappointed right now. Just when you decide to take control of these debts, new things pop up. I contacted CHASE today after putting a nice GW letter in the mail, only to find out they sold my dept to a CA. The account was just sold in May!!!!!!! OMG. Just one month ago. I haven't received anything from the CA as yet, but I took their name and #, since I was told I'll need to contact them. So I guess that will be a new Collection on my account again right? The name of the CA Ophrys. Has anyone ever heard of them? What should I do now?

My 2 cents would be (and I'm not pro at this sort of thing like Ilecs, Sidewinder, etc) to pay them NOW before they begin reporting.

DV them in order to get the amount owed and then offer them a PFD. I don't know if the average CA will report AFTER payment if they've not even begun reporting prior to payment, though.

Hopefully, others who have experience in this area will chime in!!
