Nik, since you helped me in a tremendous way...I will offer the same to you. It is no big deal for me to help you clean up some of those baddies. I will call you after 6pm today so that we could go over the strategy. Your goals WILL be obtained by the deadline you set because I WONT let you give up! Now pick that head up and hold it up high
First off, Nik, congrats on the new job!! Yay!! You really sound like you're enjoying it!! 
Second, as re your list of uglies, you have 5 medicals that you should get to preHIPAAing. If you send the preHIPAAs to the CRAs NOW, then by the time you hear back from them, you should have the cash to pay'em off. That is, of course, assuming that the OCs can be reached or haven't lost your accounts!!
Third, can you try to re-open the Plains account? Or have you already tried that? I know next to nothing about Plains!!
Fourth, if you can pay it off, get your patootie on the phone and call Wacky (my pet name for Wachovia) and see if you can pay THEM. DH had a CC with First Union (whom Wacky bought out YEARS ago) that went south, and Wacky let us pay it off roughly 6 years later. Wacky doesn't seem to SELL debts. They seem to just assign them.
Was it with Wacky itself or one of the banks Wacky's bought out over the years??
