OC charged off account, Paid CA.can I GW both?

I had a chevron account that has been charged off back in 09. Now, I will be paying off the account with the CA( portfolio recovery) this week. So my questions is , can I send a GW letter to the OC an try to have the TL removed? Because it is showing as a negative on my CR.

Yes, after you pay it you can send GW letters.  Did you try a PFD with the CA?

I was going to try and PFD with the collection company. But the agent said " oh I see we have another account that's dated back in 2000". So I didn't want to press my luck with them. So they are going to up date it to read" paid in full" instead of settled for less then.  So I figured if I can get the OC to remove there posting then that's good for me.

PIF is not going to help your score.  See if you can compromise with them.  Pay the 13 year old debt in addition to the other for removal from your CR.  It's worth a shot for them to get paid for something that old and not reporting.
