Old debt with a new CA lowered my credit score

Hello everyone,

So my debt from one CA got sold to another CA. I saw that my credit score lowered because this was a new negative on my report. Is this allowed? I know that the clock does not reset on debts whent they are sold, but can it still affect your credit score? I was finally up to a 705 and then this debt got sold and knocked me down to a 611. It's extremely frustrating

Thanks!

Yes, it is permiited.  Nothing prohibits a debt collector who has obatined collection authorty on a debt from reporting their collection to the CRAs.

It's consistent with the intent of the credit reporting system to provide others with complete information on a consumer's history.

You might offer than payment in exchnage for their agreement to delete......
