PFD on old charge offs

I have a couple of old charge offs on my CR. They are all past the SOL. Is there any reason why I should not send a PFD letter? I live in Texas. I just don't want to wait 2 more years for them to fall off. Basically I am asking if a PFD letter will hurt me in any way?

Re: PFD on old charge offs

Do you mean original creditor, or collection agencies are reporting? What do the entries show?

Re: PFD on old charge offs

2 are with OC and 1 has been sold to Midland Funding.

Re: PFD on old charge offs

Ok. I'm on the computer, so I can type faster, and with detail...

What are the two OC entries showing, along with the CA entry?

Dates, amounts...etc.

Wow....blacklist.

Chase should be reporting a zero balance, if they 1099'ed you. Nobody can ever come after you for that item again. GW will be next to impossible, as they've already tossed it, and can't reverse a 1099-C.

Looks like Discover still owns it, if they're listing a balance, as compared to Exxon, which shows zero/sold to a CA.

Depending on your SOL, you might be able to pull off a PFD with MCM, but I've seen that go both ways. Find that out, and how old is the MCM entry?

As far as a PFD with Discover, hopefully someone else here has a good experience to report for you.

IME, PFD's typically do not work with an OC/CO status with the "prime banks."
