Paying off a AMEX collection

Good evening,

I decided that i will be calling Amex tomorrow to see if i can set up a payment plan with them.

I currently owe them $8250.

My question here is are they still offering the builder card after PIF in 2020?

I saw in these forums about that but they are older post.

Yes, there have been recent Optima cards granted to people on this forum. The Optima program is alive and well.

Just an update.

Just got off the phone with Amex and got into a reasonable payment plan.

But most importantly, I got a guarantee that after i pay off in full, i will get my gold card reinstated with a 2000k limit.

He also stated that he would give me back my points of 28k aswell.

I am more than happy with that outcome and look forward to it.

Yes, they are still offering an Optima card, but it needs to be pre-arranged. I would call them about getting an Optima or old card reinstated, which would be better.

Hi @vsChance Can you tell me what number you dialed?  I called today and he told me that I was sent the Optima offer in September 2019, so it has expired.  I told him I wanted to PIF, he said that whenever I PIF, I can reapply for any card they have after 30 days.  I thought the Optima card was offered after PIF??
