Please help!Removed as authorized user from DISCOVER with high balance

I checked my old Sprint account and I see the balance past due.Now,should I just pay Sprint directly or pay the collection company?

I read somewhere here that I could pay Sprint and then dispute the collection.

Which score dropped 68 points?  Sounds more like a Vantage than a Fico

if it was maxed out it should have been doing more harm than good.  Util is rated higher than age

That Merrick turning 2 yrs old should help. And the lower util. I would wait until both those happen. That will be his real score.

Sprint is pretty good at taking payments and recalling the debt from the CA. Good Luck!

You are right,it is a vantage score.I was using credit karma.

Ok. If your real score (FICO) changes at all if is likely in the 2-10 range at the most

think of Vantage asa Dramatic scoring system.  Big swings up and down.

I would have him apply for a couple of store cards as they are more lenient about approvals and cl's this would help his score my having more revolving credit accounts and help with the utilization as most store cards approve with good SL
