Portfolio Recovery Hard Pull

I settled an account with Portfolio Recovery yesterday and received an alert that they made a hard pull on my trans. report. Can they do this without my knowledge?

Was the inquiry date on your CR before or after you settled?

I pulled my trans. it shows inquiry on 3/30. That was yesterday or same day I called and made arrangements to settle the account.

Tough call, IMO. Some of us, present company included, believe that CCs have PP. Some think otherwise. If in doubt you could always send a non-PP letter and ask them to delete the inquiry.

Did you just settle or did you do a PFD? I have been trying to do a PFD with them for over a year, but have had no luck!

I settled it with no pfd. If my fico score goes down, so be it!
