Portfolio Recovery deleted on it's own!!!

I received an alert from Experian saying my score increased by 8 points today.  I looked at my credit report and noticed Portfolio Recovery is deleted from my report.  I don't know why or how but I hope it stays that way.

The OC was Dots stores.  The stores closed in 2015; I paid the balance in 2016 shortly after the account went to collections.  I did try a goodwill email them last year but I was unsuccessful.  I was told they will not remove the account since it's accurate. The account was removed from my TU report after my bk (somehow TU thought it was iib but it wasn't so they deleted it after I disputed it).  I hoping it will be removed from my Equifax report as well since it is my only collection on that report.

PayPal credit 2,400.00.

Re: Portfolio Recovery deleted on it's own!!!

Congratulations!!

I visited the forums today to see if this had happened to anyone else. All three of my PRA accounts (my only three collections) disappeared today, and my score shot up 39 points as a result.

I wonder what the hell happened, but I am not complaining. It will be interesting to check back here in the coming days and see if there are other similar experiences.

Same here! It deleted from Experian. We’re your collections paid off? It’s still showing on my Equifax and TransUnion.

Wow...I don't know what's going on but I'm happy. Yes, my collection was paid 2 years ago. They are still showing up on my Equifax not TU or EX.

Same happened with me!!!!

Experian let me know my score went up 43 points. I hope it doesn’t come back and comes off the other two.

Re: Portfolio Recovery deleted on it's own!!!

Me too!  There is another post regarding this, apparently PRA has a new policy to delete paid/settled accounts.

Equifax increased 40 pts and Exp 47 pts both now over 700!!  Just waiting on TU.  My accout was paid in full earlier this year.  I had  been sending goodwill request and thought this was the reason until I saw the different post.

August 2018- Equifax 658 TU 651 Exp 659
October 2018-Equifax 703 TU 701 Exp 706
January 2019 Equifax 708 TU 704 Exp 710
