I've been rebuilding my credit since last year and my FICO was previously 609 before I started cleaning it up. I applied for a Cap1 secured card last Feb and got another offer for a Cap1 platinum shortly after. After disputing a number of accounts I was able to pull my score up to 685 by last September. I've been gardening the last half year and wanted to wait until February to start my app spree. I received a promotion in the email from MyFICO for 20% off credit score checks from TU and EQ so I decided to give it a try before I applied anywhere. To my surprise my score jumped up to 745 on TU! Now I'm just waiting for my accounts to report for the month of January because I paid them down and I'm going to go shop for atleast 3 new accounts. Wish me luck!
Great Job! Best wishes in your search for new and better cards.
Wow that's a nice score!! You shouldn't have any problems getting approved as long as you have all your ducks in a row! Good luck.
That's awesome!! I hope to have the same good luck!!
Wow! Happy Dance!
Awesome! Congrats!!!!
Thanks Everyone! It definitely took a lot of work but hard work does pay off. I've been monitoring my credit weekly and doing everything necessary to get all the blemishes off so I'm so relieved that it all worked out.
I posted a feeler a couple weeks ago on which card I should apply for next: http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Cards/Deciding-on-3rd-credit-card-of-rebuild-process/m-p/1792...
I came to the conclusion that I wanted a Citi and possibly an Amazon or Walmart Discover but after receiving my new score I'm confident to apply for an AMEX (possibly in store at Costco) and probably a Barclays card and the Amazon/Walmart Discover.
