Question about judgements..

Hi all- my husband and I are trying to pre-qualify to buy a home- we are unable to use his income at this time due to a judgement he has from an old credit card bill. In our state the judgement lasts 10 years unless renewed. It will be 10 years old next year.  I know we should pay it to do the right thing- but if we do(assuming the collection agency doesn't renew the judgement next year) wouldn't it hurt us more since it will put it as a more recent date on his credit report?  Thanks for any info you can give.

Re: Question about judgements..

It will not hurt and you can ask whomever filed the judgement to file a motion to vacate which then will remove it from his credit reports.
