Question on statement closing date

I got some great info last night , but wasn't sure whether to post this question on that thread or start a new one for a specific question.

Basically one of the strategies suggested was to keep balances low on the statement closing date

I want to make sure I'm understanding the dates, etc

Example - my cap 1 statement was Sept 5th - October 4th

So, have the utilization low on the 4th , correct?

My payment is due on the 1st.

Re: Question on statement closing date

You would be correct so very low amount let it report on the 4th and you should be able to touch it again on the 5th of October (since you used October 4th as example) another way you can tell if your statement has posted/cleared is the activity will say no recent activity or sometimes you get an email but the email can arrive later on some cards then others so you can always check your statement reports too but if it says 4th I would have low amount that whole day and then use it again the next day (AFTER CHECKING noted above) Smiley Very Happy
