Question regarding the rules for disputes

Ok so I’m trying to see where I stand here.
I filed disputes with TU and EQ at the end of March regarding some accounts I had in collection. The TU dispute was received, addressed, and settled promptly and is no part of the crux of this post.

The dispute letters were sent CM, signature delivery. Received by EQ and signed for on 3/25 or so. I have the screen caps of “delivery to agent” to prove the dates, as well as copies of what was sent.

As of today, EQ has completely ignored/blown off the dispute. It has been 39 days since it was received and signed for. Doing some google sleuthing, I found references to the permissibility of filing an FTC complaint against EQ since they are required to respond and investigate, and complete said investigation, in 30 days. I trust the members here more than random discussions and wanted to ask you all - is an FTC complaint the right next step? As I said, they haven’t acknowledged the dispute, acted upon it, or even noted the account as being in dispute. It’s as if it wasn’t ever sent, except that I have the delivery proof. I have not reached out to EQ regarding this as I wasn’t sure if that was proper and didn’t want to make a misstep. What might be the next best step to take in handling this?

They just did you a favor. § 611 Procedure in case of disputed accuracy [15 U.S.C. § 1681i]

Looks like 611-1a is the ticket - investigate within 30 days or delete the entry. I like it. Recommend doing it via email, phone, snail mail, or website?

Please let me know how this goes!  I acually filed a complaint with my State Attorney General and the CFPB (twice) against EQ.  EQ updated on the very last day that they needed more time :/ so they got another 60 days...
