RJM

I recieved a letter in the mail today from RJM and they said they were contacted by EX about a dispute, the letter goes on to say that EX told them what date to use as the opening date!? Is that normal?
it is listed on my TU with an opening (date placed) of 12/06 and Fall off of 4/2009 how did that come about I thought it was 7 years or am I missing something?
RJM also says they purchased the account BUT it has placed on the CR is there a diffrence?
I am thinking of DV'ing them directly would it do any good?
Thanks

Re: RJM

Their open date would be different than the OC's open date. This has no impact at all on you. Removal date and open date have no relationship at all. The only two dates to be concerned about is DOFD and the est. removal date (to make sure the account wasn't re-aged by a CA or re-aged if bought by another CA).

Definitely DV, if you have the $$$ to pay later. They are great with PFDs, or so I have read in here.

When did the account go delinquent? Is the DOFD on your CR showing that same date?

If no DOFD is shown, is the removal date 7-7.5 years after the date the account went delinquent.

If it was overdrawn in 6/2002 and the fall off date for the CA is 4/2009 then it isn't re-aged.

Re: RJM

I did alittle more checking and this account is past

my SOL, what are my options on getting this off my

CR, IF I had enough funds to pay it off I would.

They are also reporting as a "factoring" account

what does that mean?
