Are you guys SURE if my dad adds me as an AU that I won't get dinged for adding "new credit?"
I will only do it if it's an old account, and low to no balance, and obviously, if they report.
I'm so hopeful that I will get my 16 points by paying utilization down. I read here that "FICO HIGH ACHIEVERS" have on average 7% of revolving. That's what I'm going for, and on only one card.
My LO says to leave it on the carecredit and not on the First Premier "Because credit reports don't like first premier" - does that make any sense? Does anyone have any thoughts on where I should leave the 7%? Do you think it will matter? (Thanks MarineVietvet for answering me. I am so worried that I'll leave it on the wrong account and will not get enough points).
I'm so stressed out about this.

To be safe go ahead and leave that balance on the Care Credit account.

Thanks Again, MV. I was just reading older threads about people paying down and how many points etc etc. But since what is "helping" my score, per MYFICO, is not using as much revolving, and what is hurting are my negatives that I can't change, then maybe this is going to not happen. Trying a short sale was a BIG mistake in terms of waiting and anxiety. We're taking the 401K money out this week...(to pay revolving to get to 640)..what if that turns into an even bigger giant mistake if we can't buy and can't put it into a house?
We won't have 14K to play with for a very long time again. If Ever.
So if anyone thinks I can't get 16+ points, please let me know.
Lastly: Just noticed that my installment loan on the truck will be on year old this month. Will that help? (100% on time).
Mod: Maybe if this gets moved to REBUILDING I will get more advice? Thanks!
Good idea, Booner72. Done!
Thanks-!!
I just posted on the credit card section but important ? so I will ask here: My dad put me as AU on his visa he has had forever at the credit union. Don't know limit but no balance. How long until that hits my reports, and do you guys have a guess on how many points that could give?
When my credit card posted to my report it boosted my scores 15 pts on avg.
UGH - I have to vent - my AU account is still not showing up anywhere. I talked to Equifax today who said that it would be automatic once the bank sent the information - which was 6/30. I know the bank reports to all 3 bureaus - what could be the holdup here? What can I do to get this thing to report? Can I do a dispute/rapid rescore/what???
THANK YOU
