Rebuilding credit with one negative account

I pay my bills on time, but there is one account that remains in the negative. How can I rebuild my credit when one creditor refuses to report that I pay them monthly. The account is closed with a "charge off" , however I am still paying them monthly- all the the CC reports is a balance change. This CC company that took my rate from 9% to 30% because everyone else was defaulting and not from my payment history. Is it possible to get my score to jump with that company still showing negative? If, so how?

Re: Rebuilding credit with one negative account

If it's in a CO status, your best bet would be to offer them a lump sum for less than the amount owed and then start the goodwill process for either the removal of the account of updating the status to be more favorable.

When a creditor reports an item as a CO, it is "written" off their books per say.
