I sent out a PFD to a collection agency over a medical bill and I received a response that was less than appealing. The response states that I asked for a copy of a bill, to which I did not but they sent one anyway. It also states that I need to pay in seven days or they will begin further collection activity. This is one of two TL they are reporting that I want to get rid of. They only responded to one. The one the responded about is due to drop in December of this year 2008. The other is scheduled to drop around 2011-2012. At this point I was wondering if I still can send a HIPPA letter to the OC. I just found out about this option after I sent the PFD. My question is though by sending a PFD to the CA did I give up my HIPPA rights. Can I still use this method? Thanks
