Removing a fraudulent collection from report

Hello,

I have a collection account on my credit report that is fraudulent. I've tried reaching out to the company with no luck, submitted a complaint through the Better Business Bureau - they could not get ahold of them either. How do I get this item resolved?

You could try the CFPB. They've slacked a bit at getting results lately. But theres always a FRCA lawyer. They can get damages for you for violating the FRCA by-laws.  You may be entitled to a minimum of $1,000 plus attorney costs, ect.

Have you disputed with the credit reporting agencies?  You don't have a private right of action under the FCRA until you do.

Yes, I've disputed it a few times.

Definitely file a complaint with the CFPB. https://www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint/

Also consider the help of a lawyer that specializes in FCRA lawsuits. You'd be amazed how much a well-worded letter from a lawyer gets results.
