Hello everyone, so my parnter unfortunately got a collection on their credit file about a year ago. It was only about $240, and it has since been paid in full to the original party. We desperately want it removed since we're trying to buy a house in the next couple years. Who do we go to request that it be deleted? The original creditor was a community college, and the collection went to Conserve collections. Any advice?
You need to send a gw letter to the office of the CEO or President of the company that is reporting the collection.
Thats an awesome resource, thank you!
Getting paid collections removed after the fact isn't always an easy process. The CA has no motivation to remove it after you've paid the debt. The goodwill approach is your best bet.
