Okay SOL, does this go by your state that you live in, the state the account was open up in, the state that the creditor is in, the state where the ca is in or all the above?I've lived in florida all my life, so the average sol for my state is 5 years, but not sure if I can just go by that.I have a few accounts on my cr that is about to come off, but wondering they could still collect. Thanks
Once a debt passes beyond the statute of limitation in your state, a debt collector no longer has the right to sue you for payment. You may still have a moral obligation to pay back an old, forgotten debt, but you can't be sued over it.
