Hello
I settled/paid off a CO account back in November. EQ and TU updated early on and worked well. EX didn't. So I contacted the creditor who said they would submit the change. Today I got an alert that EX got the change but it's different than the others.
here is the two alerts.
eq: balance 0
Account paid for less than full amount.
ex: balance 0
account deemed uncollectable and loss
Is that right for Experian? The CO updated to 1-21 instead of the last report on 11-1 when it was paid. It looks like ex now updated the co to today and ignores that I paid it off and instead looks like a CO still but no balance.
Should I call them back or is that a correct update?
I logged into Experian directly and it shows this. The CO was back in 2021. Now all of that is removed and the new CO was updated to now but balance shows paid.
I am trying to understand if this is normal or if it should be corrected?
The strange thing is why a 2yr hiatus until it hit CO status. You can mail in copies as a dispute that the account was settled and not a a loss. Not making sense. Was the CO Feb of 2021? It moved probably cause of the update.
February 2021 was original first CO status. Then reported every month after. Now with this update all of those are gone, but a new one hits for January 2023. I have already disputed this twice because originally it was not showing paid or balance 0. So now that I want to dispute this aspect, I cannot via experian and will have to via mail.
It is so frustrating having to fight for the right information....
Certified Mail works the best. Nothing is easy with CRA's at times.
