Hello everyone.
First timer here. I've been reading threads and catching up on some 101's and judging by your signatures it looks like my hope could be restored as I've seen some very impressive gains. I'm sure those don't come easy.
Before I post some numbers I just wanted to say that we (my wife and I) hit some turbulence over the last few years but over the last year, we have been trying to restore our sanity and we are trying to enjoy life once again. I grabbed some screenshots from My Experian account to hopefully start painting a good picture of where we are and ask for some guidance and what to do and what not to do so that in 2-3 years we could apply for a mortgage for our new house. My credit score is around 630 but it just went down with TransUnion because of an old collection that was just reported.
The big-ticket item is our short sale which is about to hit the scores in the next few days (closed on Friday last week).
So let's take a look at what it is right now:

Here is what lenders see (high-level):

Next are open accounts:
1 credit card (started recently, one more will be there - both $300 credit line - Indigo and CapitalONE; both current)
1 auto loan which is current over the last 8 months and we are about to be done with that in 4-5 months
1 mortgage - short sale with over 120 days overdue so yes, pre-forclosure

School loans - not sure what they did but instead of one consolidated account it was different account each time. Last 6-8 months are in green and we are about to start making minimum payments once Covid is over and we can setup a plan.

Collections - 1 recent. I actually called today and I did setup a payment plan but we are hoping to pay it off over the next 2 months.

14 inquiries - I figured my as well do it now before s&%t hits the fan completely. I was able to get one installment loan and 1 CC (CapitalOne)

No public records (yet) ... but I imagine the pre-forclosure will show up here.

Any feedback would be highly valued as we are working on putting all of our ducks in the row. Thanks in advance and Happy Friday!
My regards.
Welcome! You've definitely come to the right place. Sorry about the rough patch, but glad things seem to be turning around.
Definitely keep those new accounts current and on time, and good news on the collection is, they will PFD (pay for delete) whether you settle or pay in full. So once you take care of it, it'll come off your reports within a few months and possibly give you a boost.
