Should I ask Equifax to remove this account?

This is showing as a closed negative account on Equifax, should I ask them to remove this?

Re: Should I ask Equifax to remove this account?

I'd dispute it as being too old to report. I wonder why there's no DOFD listed?

FICO 8:
EQ: 1/2018: 494 | 4/2021: 652 (+158)
TU: 1/2018: 536 | 4/2021: 657 (+121)
EX: 1/2018: 499 | 4/2021: 641 (+142)

Mortgage Scores:
EQ: 9/2020: 560 | 4/2021: 648 (+88)
TU: 9/2020: 564 | 4/2021: 649 (+85)

Re: Should I ask Equifax to remove this account?

I might be reading it wrong im tired Smiley Happy

Is it showing as negative because of the lates?

I really might be reading it wrong but it looks like a loan that was paid off and has lates on it?  Its been 10 years, id ask to have it removed if its lowering the score.

Some of my closed accounts are listing over 10 years as well.  Except they dont have negative info so I dont mind em.

The more I re-read my post and your post I am confusing myself, almost time to go home.

*edit*
Is it keeping your AAoA up? or do you have other accounts from back then?

Payment History Key

This makes no sense - if it was closed in '06, why is it showing a payment history with lates subsequent to the closure date? When was it ACTUALLY paid and closed?

Re: Should I ask Equifax to remove this account?

That entry doesn't make any sense.

"Paid and closed"

"Pays as agreed"

Date of last payment: 11/2005

Date closed: 09/2006 (??)

180 days late in 07/2012 (???!)

Can you share some background to make sense of it?

Call them and ask, they will most likely say it will stay on until 2016. It is all messed up anyway so they might delete it. Looks like some bad reporting.

Re: Should I ask Equifax to remove this account?

Hi everyone, thanks for responding. I am confused about this entry myself. Never got anything from anyone, I thought all my loans were paid years ago until I wanted to work on my credit and found this.

The only thing derog about the account are the lates being reported in the payment history, I would send the creditor a direct dispute on those, if the payment history gets removed it a total positive account.

+1.

I wish I had not deleted some of my potentially positive accounts when starting credit repair :-)
