Starting to rebuild credit, need advice

I live in Alabama where the limit to sue for credit card debt is 3 years, if that makes any difference.

This maybe true. But it doesn't stop collection efforts after the SOL runs out. Closer to fall off is when it gets dicey. And then here they come knowing their time is running out
