I disputed to collection accounts online with TU and just logged in to check on status and got this message:

Any clue why I got this/what happens next?
The 2 CAs are reporting incorrect information and the debt was paid thru a different CA (rjm)...
The original CA (RJM) was it paid in full or did you settle?

I paid RJM this week (pfd with letter confirming delete/debt satisfied)
So 2 new CA's are reporting the same account that was paid/sattisfied with RJM? Did you pay the balance in full with RJM or did you settle for a percentage?
The 2 CAs were reporting before I ever paid RJM.
I called the OC who said the debt was with RJM, not the other two (although they had been at one time according to OCs record, but according to OC, RJM was the current CA holding the debt)
So, I paid RJM with pfd letter. I paid $50 on a $116 balance and they sent me a letter with the wording "account has been satisfied in full" and "As per your specific request, an update is being sent to Trans-Union and Experian instructing them to have the tradeline deleted on the above referenced account"
Ok thats great RJM is easy to deal with. Are the other 2 CA's reporting a balance?
If prior debt collectors had collection authority and reported that fact to the CRAs, termination of their collection authority and placement or sale of the debt to another debt collector does not mandate the prior debt collector to then delete their reporting. They are, however, required to update the balance they are authorized to collect to $0, and close their collection.
If they have not done so, then yes, you can dispute the current accuracy of their reporting. However, they can simply provide the required update, thus making their reporting accurate. Presence of inaccuracies do not mandate deletion if they can be corrected.
Sure enough got an email in the early hours of the morning saying the dispute had been processed, please log in to view. Of course I was a bit nervous that it came back so soon (less than 48 hours).
Here are the results OHHHHHHH YEAHHHHH!!! Bye bye two collections from my report!!!
