So, in the two-three months I've found the forums, my score has jumped from 580 to 640ish. I've removed four collections, and paid only one of them. I closed my bank account and am enjoying my new found relationship with Navy Federal Credit Union, and happy with the Visa Signature cashrewards card they gave me with a 5K limit.
I'll spend time working on getting these twenty inquires(on each CRA) off by December. This happened before I, literally knew what an inquiry was, let alone the impact. Chase denied me for this very reason.
No more, running into financinal issues, and deliberatly overdrafting my account to pay a bill. Or taking out mulitple payday loans or using my former bank's checking account advance.
I've looked at my prior bank's statement, and I've spent close to $2100 in payday fees, overdraft fees, and account advance fees, this year alone!
Never again...I'm in my mid 20's(still trying to finish school, while only earning 34k a year)...glad I didn't start too late...Now I can start investing, looking at NFCU's option and probably going to open a ROTH IRA...
But, enough rambling...feels good, though...
Great job!! Happy things ahead for you!
Ramble away..... Loving it! Welcome to responsible finances!
Thats awesome. Continue to do what you have been doing and your 30's will appreciate it.
Congratulations! NFCU is a great credit union and they can help you save lots on money just on the interest alone!!! Best of luck!!!
