Trying to Rebuild

I had a TNB - Target card and they are reporting a balance of $199 (Account closed at Credit Grantor's Request.. However when I call they tell me that my account has been sold to Asset. I have never received anything from them nor are they on any of my credit reports. How should I go about dealing with this issue. Any comments will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

See if the Target will still accept the payment...and pull the account back from Asset....if they tell you....to deal with Asset....try to pay Asset....if they agree not to report...AT ALL.....is Asset on your reports???...

Thanks for the quick response. I will try that. Asset is not reporting on any of the credit reports.

If Target has sold the account as they said, they should be reporting a $0 balance.

If they did sell the account, they can't accept payment.

If they didn't sell it, then as suggested try and get them to accept payment.
