Vacating a Judgement

Hi Evreyone,

I went to court to vacate a judgement. got a court date July 2012, the plaintiff and I arrived. The judge asked me to pay 60%, we agreed, and the judge signed that the motion is vacated and wrote that after payment the plaintiff should send me a "stipulation of discontiuance" within 30 days of payment. I sent a payment the same day of the verdict, and never heard from the lawyer again and the judgement is NOT removed.

I would REALLY appreciate your help and guidence.

Thank you very much!

I would think contacting the lawyer might be a good place to start.  Just send him a copy of the payment, the court documents, and remind him to follow through.

Re: Vacating a Judgement

If the judge signed the motion to vacate then all you need is a copy of the official court papers and send them in to the bureau as a dispute saying that the judgment is vacated and should be deleted from your credit report.

Re: Vacating a Judgement

For yours... instead of having the word dismissed in big red font; use the word Vacated.
