What happens to our information?

I was wondering what happens to our info when ever a debt has passed the CRTP/7 years? Do the CA still hang on to it or do they have to delete it. Or will we ever know? Just curious!  Thanks!

Re: What happens to our information?

Some CAs still hang onto them. We had a debt show up for DH's ex-wife from 1997. They sent a copy of the med bill w/ DX codes & everything.

Also, when I paid off a debt w/ DRS, they dug up and sent (without any request from us) a 3-month history of phone records for a phone DH's ex opened up in their home after they had separated. Closed out in 1999.

See i think once they get their money or the CRTP ends they should be required to send us any documents/information they have on us! So that nothing sneaky happens! Anyway just my thoughts!
