What to do with negative closed accounts?

I've got 2 negative closed accounts. Not in collections.

One is from txu energy

The other is from mattress firm.

They are roughly 5 years old. Should I pay the balance on these or just ignore them?

Depends, what are your short term needs/wants for credit?

If you can arrange a "pay for delete" for all three credit bureaus, and it's not for that much, I believe it would be worth it to pay these.

If you ignore them, they stay on your credit report for two more years.  I sense that these are "charge-offs."

If you're planning on getting new credit, especially if it's a mortgage or loan in the next 2 years, I would definitely ask to PFD if those negatives aren't much. If you're not planning on any new credit, you could wait for 2 years until they fall off your CR's. Good luck!
