Just applied for a CLI with my Shell card yesterday and it was declined. Kind of ridiculous considering the credit limit is only $180 and I've had the account for 7 years, have an excellent payment history (only 1 30 day late and that was 3 years ago), and have never had a CLI with them in all of that time. Furthermore, in the last two months they have owed ME money -- I've got an auto bill pay that pays them a certain amount each month and apparently I overpaid by $150 and right now I have a +$80 balance.
I don't get it. I was asking for a CLI to $500 and they wouldn't give me any CLI.
Where should I go from here? How can I do a recon with them? Never done a recon before and have only heard them mentioned on these boards.
