I have 2 TL on my CR from collection agencies trying to collect my past due bill debt from AT&T and Progressive Insurance... There are no TL from the OC. Just the CA.
From what I understand, it is always better to try to contact OC and see if they will be willing to accept PIF from me in exchange for takign it out of collection.
AT&T DOFT is around 05/2007 - 11/2007, in collection since 03/2010.
Progressive DOFT is around 01/2006 - 07/2006, in collection since 08/2006.
SOL in CA is 4 years.
So should I contact AT&T and Progressive directly and ask to get it out of collection in exchange for PIF? If they agree to it, does this mean that the TLs from their CA will be deleted?
Please advise.
