cA Question

If a CA says in a letter, or "bill" if you will, that they have been retained by the OC, are the chances good that the OC still owns the debt and I can pay them directly? It is only $35.

Thank You

Re: cA Question

if the OC is listed a balance then they still own the account...you need to look on your CR and see how the account is listed by the OC...If it is a $0 balance then most likely they sold it to the CA

Re: cA Question

More than likely, yes.  But, who is listing on your CR?  If only the CA is listing, then I would try to PFD them.  If the OC and the CA is listing, then you could try to contact the OC and deal with them.
