I had negative account that dropped off at 7 years. As far as a settled account, Im not sure if it drops off right away, or lingers as a negative until 7 years. I'm sure someone will know better than myself on the subject
Chex currently keeps derogs on record for five years. If you pay off a delinquency they'll update it to a paid status but they don't remove it unless instructed to by the institution that filed the derog. Very much like the credit bureaus in that respect.
