help getting started

hi ive been lurking on these boards for a while now thought i ask some questions. To start off i have $67000 in student loans and $1300 in total in collections. so i have a lot of baddies on my cr mostly from student loans being sold and moving to different companies. and the collections is 4 different items with no more than 2 years on them. how do i go about paying my collections and getting it delete from my cr and is there any thing i can do about the badies from student loans

thanks

Re: help getting started

Write to the collections accounts and request pay for deletions.  This seems to be a mixed bag of outcomes, but it is worth a shot.  The student loans, your best bet is to begin paying them on time, and then after a year, write a good will letter to discuss removing any negative information now that you are a model client.   Starting a credit line and managing it successfully is a great start as well.  Ultimately what you need are revolving accounts wisely used and history, but there are a few ways to speed up the time needed for the history.

If you are behind or defaulted on your student loans look into doing a rehab program on them - that usually gets all of the negative stuff removed.

Thanks for the responses. I have open two credit cards with capital one. Will be using those rebuild what can.
My student loans are consolidated with navident . I'm trying to get pay as you earn right now. I have to look in to rehab program to erase negatives because I went through one and negatives are still shown.
