LavenderL, I had my reasons...but now I pay it a month early because I am afraid they have other rules that they will continue to damage my credit if they can...besides, if everyone here did everything exactly like they were supposed to, I don't think this sub forum would exist...

So please don't cast stones unless you can walk on water...

Re: laws on 30 day late reporting and any possible case precedents

You were inaccurate when you said my counting of the days was inaccurate...that is an inaccurate statement...WF response is that their posting procedures trumph Federal law and that it is the last word....I happen to disagree with them, thats why I was looking for case precedent that might show that a payment made and accepted on the 29th day could not be reported as 30 days late as far as credit reporting was concerned...

Just because WF's clock turn to the next day at 2pm doesn't mean the rest of the world starts a new day at 2pm also...in fact from what I know, most calenders don't turn till the next day till 12 midnight..if someone asks me what day it is a 2:15pm on wed, I am going to tell them wed, not thurs...and I bet you would too...at some point common sense should prevail in this types of situations...

I'm not trying to disparage you in any way, no stones being thrown. Ill do a quick check later and see if I can find a federal case for you but my gut is telling me there will not be any reported cases on this. Have you tried BBB?

Dont worry...nobody can disparage me from fighting this thing lol...and I don't think you are throwing stones at all, you are just stating your opinion.... I have tried BBB and a couple of other consumer protection agencies but there response is always the same...they are sticking by their posting guidelines as reason for their reporting...

Sorry, I was not trying to be judgemental.  I have credit issues also.

I was genuinely curious because at first read it seemed like you were trying to time your payments to be late or something on purpose.  Sorry.

Re: laws on 30 day late reporting and any possible case precedents

Look up the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency

It says the bank goes by the date they  recieved the payment, not posted it.
