not a collection & not a judgement??

my dh has a medical bill on his report for 36k it is not listed as a judgement, nor a collection, it's dola is 05/02. what do i do with this let it run it's course for the 7 years or work out some type of payment plan?  i want to purchase a home by January 09 would this be possible with this listed on his report?
also, there is an account which states government miscellaneous debt (overpayment of unemployment benefits) do i pay this before i apply for a loan or wait and see if it's something that has to be paid. i know i have to pay it regardless but just wondering how it would affect his scores, would it update and cause the scores to drop???

Re: not a collection & not a judgement??

You need to check your state SOL for medical debts.

Then you would need to check out whychat hipaa process.

However, with an amount this large, if within SOL I wouldn't do anything unless I could PIF.

It will be up to the lender on the government debt, how old is it?
