i took out a $4000 personal loan with my credit union a few years ago to help pay some bills. i was then laid off, and have had a hard time finding steady work since (until last january, but took a job paying much lower for the first year).
i am now finally starting to get some financial stability, and although my most recent late payment was just a few months ago, i am curious as to whether i should send them a goodwill letter trying to get those late payments turned into OK payments...is that how a GW letter works? i want to clean up my credit so i can look at buying a house sometime within the next year...
