public record but only an authorized user

I was only an authorized user on someones account and the card was sent to collections. It shows in my credit report under a bad dept public record is this fair and can I for anything about it.

Yup.  Say it's not yours.   It's an AU, they will take it off.

Shogun is generally correct but it depends on the type of account and the user agreement.

 

Amex and some others hold an AU responsible for any charges that they made.

Who do I contact the creditor or the credit bureau

I would first contact the court house and get a copy of the judgment, if there is no judgment against you contact the CRA's, if there is though you will need to contact the attorney the filed the judgment.
